PROJECT OVERVIEW
This project consists of: (Phase 1) complete reconstruction of Main Street from 5th Street to Railway Street, and (Phase 2) complete reconstruction of Main Street from Railway Street to N. County Road, along with Railway Street from Main Street to Juniper Street. Work also includes roadway resurfacing on 3rd Street and 4th Street from Juniper Street to Poplar Street. Work will include upgrading of water main, sanitary and storm sewer, PCC pavement, and sidewalk.
PROJECT INFORMATION & UPDATES
Phase 1:
Slowey Construction finished the subgrade grading from 5th Street to Railway Street. They also placed geotextile fabric and gravel base along this stretch of roadway. Reede Construction, the general contractor, mobilized their equipment and materials to the site. Following mobilization, Reede set stringline and fine-tuned the gravel in preparation for concrete paving. On Friday, July 8th, Reede Construction paved the south bound lane from 5th Street to Railway Street.
Next, Reede Construction will continue preparing the gravel base along Main Street between 5th Street and Railway Street. Once complete, they will pave the remaining concrete pavement and curb and gutter. During this time, Slowey Construction will also be grading Railway Street, placing geotextile fabric and gravel base.
Phase 2:
Slowey Construction has been grading the subgrade and gravel base in Phase 1. They have also removed additional concrete pavement north of Railway St.
Next, Slowey Construction will continue preparing Railway Street for concrete pavement. In addition, they will work on sanitary sewer between Well Street and Henry Street.
