A message from Jeff:
After 42 years in civil engineering, I am announcing my retirement with a deep sense of gratitude and reflection.
It has been a privilege to spend my career helping shape the infrastructure that supports our communities—designing, building, and maintaining projects that will serve people for generations. From my earliest days in the field to the complex challenges of later years, this profession has given me opportunities to grow, to solve problems that matter, and to work alongside talented and dedicated colleagues.
I am especially thankful for the mentors who guided me, the teams who collaborated with me, and the clients and communities who trusted me. Civil engineering is never a solitary effort, and whatever I have accomplished is a direct result of shared expertise and collective commitment.
Over four decades, I have seen technologies evolve, standards advance, and expectations rise. Through it all, one thing has remained constant: the responsibility we carry to ensure safety, integrity, and long-term value in every project. That responsibility has been the foundation of my career.
As I step away from this role, I do so with confidence in the next generation of engineers who will continue this important work with innovation and dedication.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey. It has been an honor to serve in this profession.
