The company began in Sioux Falls in 1966 as a branch of Schmucker, Shaffer, Paul and Nohr, an engineering firm in Mitchell, SD. They hired Richard Sayre to manage the new branch.

 

After three years as a branch office, Dick formed his own consulting firm, R. F. Sayre & Associates on January 1, 1969. He started with a stack of books and a telephone, and grew his company by focusing on relationships, listening, and providing excellent customer service.

Over the years, the company has grown in size and engineering capabilities, but our values have never changed. We continue to have a reputation for providing engineering and surveying excellence, by listening and finding solutions.

The name was changed to Sayre Associates, Inc. in March 2001 with a change of leadership and office location.

 

We continue to provide professional services to private and public clients from all over the region. We are dedicated to our clients' satisfaction, from project design through construction.
