Freeman Main Street Reconstruction Project
OVERVIEW
The project consists of complete reconstruction of Main Street from N. County Road to Fifth Street, and Railway Street from Main Street to Juniper Street. Work will include upgrading of water main, sanitary and storm sewer, PCC pavement, and sidewalk improvements.
START DATE
Construction will start on April 27, 2022, with removals on Railway Street.
PHASING & COMPLETION DATES
Phase 1 = Primary business district of Main Street, from Railway St to Fifth St. Planned completion date of Phase 1 is July 29.
Phase 2 = North County Road & adjacent blocks of Railway, Third & Fourth Streets. Planned completion date of Phase 2 is November 5.
CONTRACTOR
The contractor is Reede Construction, Inc. of Aberdeen, SD. Various sub-contractors will also be working on this project, including Splitrock Landscaping & Nursery, Big Al's Contracting, Black-Top Paving, Construction Signing Corporation, and Slowey Construction.

Freeman Road Closures

Beginning on Wednesday, April 27, Railway Street from Juniper to Main will be closed to traffic for an extended period of time. Work will begin with removals, storm sewer and sanitary sewer upgrades at the intersection of Railway & Juniper. See project map above for road closures and parking.
Access to businesses along Freeman's Main Street will be maintained from the adjacent side streets.
